What we leave behind

This photo shows a brown leather suitcase that became the focus of a Japanese woman's search for Hana Brady. Her story and Hanas is told in Hana's suitcase by Karen Levine. I read this in two sittings. Just before picking this up I had been looking at an autograph book I am about to donate to a school archive dated 1928/29 and also at Mendip Mental Asylum Facebook where they are piecing together the life stories of people rich and poor, old and young who died while in their care. No one knows what fate has in store for us or what and who we will be remembered by. Ì wonder how those people would come through from spirit and with what evidence. Sometimes though the connection between an object and a person is enough to inspire empathy in a stranger, sadly we often cannot empathise or even offer a helping hand to another person because we meet them in the middle of rushing through our lives. Do not be afraid to connect to others or to slow your pace down, you might miss something you need to see.
