I have a few friends on facebook that I have known since playschool. Some childhood neighbours who grew up alongside me and then schoolfriends too. The nature of friendship changes as we go through each stage of our life and sometimes people who we are close to step out of our lives due to circumstance or disagreement. Sometimes people reconnect later but often just for a short time. Other people we meet later in life we lose when work or relationships alter things. From each one we have learnt something and we can look back with fondness at the time we shared. Now it is easy to make friends in online communities who you never get to meet or meet rarely but that doesn't matter. There are a handful though with whom the connection is enough to stay there even if you aren't seeing them all the time. They are the ones who we talk to about anything, we can moan to or cry over the phone with. They are the ones you can collapse into giggles with and the ones who tease each other. Treasure them
